2/3 of a Year

Yeah...
CrAzY RiGhT?!
Brynlee is 8 months old!

Stats:
Weight: I have no clue. We don't have a scale and it's been two months since she has been to the doctor. Let's just say her weight is HEAVY! She is packing on the pounds I'm sure of it. In the last two months I'm sure she has gained at least two pounds, and it's all in her cheeks! But, I'm ok with that! :)
Eye Color: Very blue. I'm so excited her eyes have stayed their pretty blue color. Her eyes are so sparkly!
Milestones:
Crawling
going from crawling to sitting
got her first tooth
eating lots of big people food
boycotting pureed baby food
down to 3 naps a day usually
drinking out of cups and water bottles
playing with herself in the mirror,
saying lots of things! My personal favorite? "mamamama" :)
Likes:
Going to the park
watching shows (I try not to let her watch them too often, but it's such an easy fix sometimes!)
crackers, macaroni and cheese, pizza, yogurt
plastic bags (don't worry, I watch her very carefully with those haha)
her little box of tic tacs
 my old phone case
pulling out tons of baby wipes
 riding in the stroller
 taking baths
 playing peek-a-boo
 getting underneath things
sleeping on a pillow
napping with mommy
messing up mom's laundry piles
and riding in the car (that's a new one!).
Dislikes
getting her nose wiped/sucked out (she got sick this past month so she had lots of that...)
drinking out of sippy cups (we have had so much drama finding one that she can even drink out of and even then it's pretty hit or miss)
getting her diaper changed (she doesn't cry but she likes to roll all around...diaper changing is pretty much a joke now)
being alone/being surrounded by too many people touching her
 baby food.
She has really become such a happy baby, there are very few things that make her cry now-a-days!! :)

Now for month 7 in pictures!

Brynlee with her aunt Tatum :)
She doesn't stand up on her own because nothing is short enough for her to grab it, but she is pretty good at standing up if we put here there!

We have let Brynlee wear her Easter Dress because Silly Mommy decided to buy her a 6 month dress when by the time Easter comes, she will be almost 9 months!

I love her happy faces after she gets out of the bath! She always gets so excited about the lotion while I am putting it in my hands and then she just squirms and grunts when I actually put it on.

Remember when I said she likes getting under things??

She. Eats. So. Much.

This is the look I got the ENTIRE time I was drying my hair! She just thought it was so weird and every time I looked over she hadn't moved a muscle...silly girl!

She loves playing in the grass and going on picnics!

This is her favorite spot. She will just lay under the bed skirt. Don't ask me why...I'm just her mom!

And again, inside the box...

She loves hanging out at Grandma Green's house!

The day she cut her first tooth!

She never sits still enough for pictures any more...

She had a cold this day, so we were comfort eating haha. Look at that GUT!

She likes to watch me put laundry away. Usually she is messing up my piles, but this day she just sat like this and watched me the whole time!

They are even chubbier now! But I love looking at her little thighs!

20 minutes these kept her happy. Not even exaggerating!

We got family pictures taken a couple weeks ago and this is one of the sneak peeks we got! I can't wait to see the rest!

It Happened...

That's right folks...Brynlee has
HER FIRST TOOTH!

Holy cow. I kind of thought she had been teething last week when she was sort of a little terror (not eating good, not sleeping good, being so fussy, runny nose, and off and on fevers) but she would chew on my fingers and I could push on her gums all that I wanted and she never seemed bugged by it. So weird. Well, yesterday I was feeling and it felt a little bit harder than normal. I looked and I could basically see the tooth under her gums! I said to Spencer, "I bet that tooth comes in by tomorrow". SURE ENOUGH! This morning it was rough like it had poked through a little bit and by tonight around dinner, you can definitely see and feel the tooth on the bottom left. Her other bottom tooth looks like it will be coming in shortly. She has been back to her normal happy self and sleeping much better so I don't know if she is still going through any teething pains, but it's official. No more gummy little smile. I know that it still is for a while, but it's not the same. It almost makes me a little bit sad because I am watching her grow up so fast right before my eyes. I mean, for goodness sakes! She is going to be 8 months old on Wednesday! Where has the past 2/3 of a year gone??? She is not my sweet little newborn no. She is finally crawling (as of yesterday she was figuring it out, today she is a pro!), she has a tooth, and I'm sure even more milestones and growth are ahead.

Slow down baby girl...Mommy doesn't want you to grow up.

Disney Side Birthday Party!

*I received these products for free to throw the party*

I got to throw a Disney Side party! I am in a group called MomSelect and they send me offers and things to try that are mostly mom related. I got an email asking me if I wanted to fill out a survey to decide if I wanted to throw a Disney Side party. I filled out the survey, thinking I wouldn't get chosen because I only had one kid and she wasn't even 1 yet! Well, much to my surprise, they picked me!! I was so excited. I had to agree to throw the party between a couple of month span and then to blog about it to share my experience. They sent me a bunch of party supplies and a suitcase, an iphone case, and some measuring cups as hostess gifts!

I was given the plates, napkins, cups, stickers, craisins, bracelets, tattoos, table cloth, mickey mouse cookie cutters, cupcake liners, disney side bingo, and hanging mickey mouse decorations.

Katy's birthday was February 12 and it was the perfect time for me throw the party! It was a little bit earlier than I was supposed to, but I couldn't pass up a perfect opportunity! She invited 9 of her friends and we had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Disney birthday party! I didn't get there as early as I would have liked but luckily my mom is awesome and set it up for me. :) I recruited the help of my grandma and my sister to help as well so that we would have plenty of hands for all of the activities!

We started off by eating mickey mouse shaped pancakes and sausage with chocolate milk. We used the cookie cutters to make the pancakes in shapes and the kids thought they were so cool!
Mom made muffins and used the cup cake liners I got! So cute :)

After the girls were all done eating, we played Bingo! None of the girls really liked eating the Craisins so we used them as our markers for Bingo. They thought it was so fun and shouted BINGO! every time they got one. We kept playing until every girl got a chance to yell.

After we played Bingo, it was time for face painting! I had decided beforehand that it would be so fun to do face paint. In my kit they gave me a couple of templates I could do for face painting but none of the girls chose those ones. They loved it!

Once we brought all of the girls in from outside, Katy opened her presents! She got lots of cool little girl things, and even some of those weird monster high dolls (I really don't understand that fad...).

Last but not least was the silly photos. I made some cute props out of construction paper, put them on sticks, and let the girls take turns using them to take pictures. I made ones that looked like goofy, donald, minnie, and even a mustache (since apparently those are fun these days too)! They thought it was so fun. They kept trading props and wanting me to take more pictures of them. I'm glad they worked out! I made them bigger than they needed to be, according to my husband, but I think they looked so cute on these little girls!

It turned out to be so much fun and I'm so glad I got picked to throw this party! I will do it again any time! The girls each got a balloon and a Minnie and Mickey poster (got those for free too!) and played outside until their parents came to get them. We also are printing out some of these silly pictures with the photo paper that they sent me and mailing them to their houses! Happy 7th KJ :)
