10 months ALREADY?!

HOLY FREAK.
Where in the world did the last month of my life go?????
I can't even believe how fast this is going. People always told me, and I always knew it, but the reality of it is just mind blowing...it has already been 10 MONTHS since Brynlee was born. This is the longest stretch of time I have had not being pregnant since I got married! (7 months was the time to beat :) ) This month has gone by really quickly. I think since I have been in the play, Spencer has been in school every night, and I have been keeping myself busy (probably more busy than I should...). It just seems like yesterday I was writing her 9 month post...sheesh!
Well, here it goes!!

10 months old!
Weight: about 16 lb 6 oz (at the urgent care about a week ago)
Clothes size: moving her up to 6-9/9 months! FINALLY!
Teeth: Still just the bottom two, but I have a feeling that won't be the answer next month!
Naps: two a day usually and goes to bed around 8
Likes:
F.O.O.D. All day....every day.
Baths (even though she spends more time trying to stand up than playing)
Standing up (on everything! Can't keep this girl down!)
Playing peek a boo (she does it by herself now)
Throwing anything she can get her hands on...dinner time is quite the affair these days
Going Shopping
Playing with paper
Eating small, almost invisible objects every chance she gets
Singing "wheels on the bus"
Waving to random inanimate objects (walls, trees, etc.)
Pinching and pulling hair
Snuggle time with mom
Showers with dad
Getting her ears cleaned

Dislikes:
Being told "No" (it's happening more frequently now...she is starting to test the waters of naughty)
Getting her hands and face washed after eating
Getting her nose wiped
Taking her Temperature
Falling (also doing a lot more of this lately since she spends very little time on the ground)
Bonking her head (again, lots more corners to bonk on up high)

I don't think a whole lot has changed in the last month. She is still super smiley, a generally happy baby, who loves playing with other babies :). I'm so grateful that her early on fussiness went away...that was unbearable rough. Here are some pictures that I haven't posted yet!
She has been wearing shoes more often but they make her feet SO STINKY! Oh well, a small price to pay :) Anybody have any good tips on how to make baby shoes not stink?
She finally learned how to suck out of a straw! Goodness! Best. Day. Ever.
For a while she was just pulling herself up on the couches, but this month she has started really exploring the house. She is up on the table, up by the TV, on the dresser in the living room, on the bath in our bathroom, on the toy shelf in her room...you name it, she's climbed it!
We have started needing to barricade her places. One of the frequent ones is across the kitchen entry way. She always comes in when I'm doing dishes and takes out all of the silverware and throws them on the floor...what a good helper :/
This is the best picture I have of her cute little teeth.
This happens almost every Sunday :) Just go ahead and melt my heart :)
We went to the play place at the mall and she just looked so big playing there all by herself...

She found a new place to hang out...it's only as wide as she is and there is nothing under that table to play with, but she likes to go back there! She looks so mischievous...
She's so cute in the mornings :)

We got to talk to this guy! Miss him so much! Brynlee wasn't all that interested though...
This water was freezing, but she didn't care one bit! Plus I just like baby booty :)

She is just getting way too big! And this outfit?? Come on...it doesn't get cuter than that.

She got a toothbrush :) She loves to brush her teeth!

It's not all sunshine and butterflies though. She has become easily broken hearted and prone to throwing fits. She just looks so cute doing it...

Happy 10 months Chubba Bubba! We love your little squishy self! Keep those grins cheesy and those giggles coming! :)

Family Pictures 2014

We had a girl take some family pictures of us and she did an AWESOME job! She did them for free, too, which was so nice of her! I really wanted some pictures that were professional and just of our family, with our colors, and not just a quick couple once the big family was done! It took a while to get them, but I am so glad we did it!

Poop on the Potty

Brynlee was taking a bath the other day and started making the face...you know.....the poop face. I freaked! I grabbed her out of the tub and sat her on the toilet. She was happy as can be and sat there and did her business. I wiped her bum, put her right back in the bath, and she was none that wiser. PLUS I didn't have to use a diaper! SCORE!

Costume shopping

I'm in the play Annie Get Your Gun! Rehearsals have been so fun and I'm so glad I decided to do it. It is a little bit hard having Brynlee with me there the whole time, but luckily my sister comes and takes care of her for me! (I'm learning to let go...) Well, it is set in the 1880s and we are in a wild west show. We are supposed to provide our own costumes, and I don't know about anybody else, but I don't have those kind of clothes lying around!!! So grandma and I did some research and decided to check some thrift stores and see what we could find that we could make work. We started at Savers...and didn't have to go ANYWHERE ELSE! I know. Awesome!! We found some perfect stuff and it was fun putting together old fashioned outfits! Here are some of the things we ended up finding!

Brynlee hung out in the cart the whole time, smiling and chatting with anybody that would give her attention....and doing this.....
WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

It really was a fun day and I'm glad to have it out of the way! I'm glad Brynlee is such a happy baby while we are out and about...it makes my love of not being in the house much more do-able :).

Sicky

That's right...the girl has the beginnings of croup. Not sure what exactly that means, except that it makes mommy miserable seeing her so miserable. Seriously...the sound of these coughs is the worst thing I think I have ever experienced. There is no way I can comfort her, make it feel better, or help her in any way.

It started two nights ago. She was just waking up a TON in the night coughing. Spencer was up with her wide awake from 12-1:00 am and I was up with her from 1:30-2 am. Yesterday she was still coughing but mostly she was fine. Well, around 6 she fell asleep and just woke up feeling really warm. I was at Grandma's house and she didn't think she felt warm, but I just felt like she was burning up. Sure enough, a temp of 102. GREAT! She was on medicine and had a cold bath (which she loved!), some water, and lots of medicine. She went to bed pretty well and didn't have a fever at that point. She woke up a few times in the night but it wasn't anything serious, she fell right back asleep. She was just coughing so much. Today it just got progressively worse and worse. She had a fever all day and by about 3:30 she was coughing so bad that she was gagging, not breathing well, coughing like a dog, and just scaring me quite honestly. I had decided I was going to take her to the doctor if she still had a fever in the morning, but at that point I decided that it was time to take her...now. Her ped. didn't have any available appointments so we were sent to a pediatric urgent care. They told me that she could hear it in her throat when she coughed and that she definitely had a fever. They gave her a steroid shot and told me to just watch her and make sure that she is still breathing ok, that her coloring stays good, and that she doesn't become dehydrated. She got SO much better after that shot. She still coughed a lot, but she didn't go into full on attacks every time and she barely cried. She went right to sleep and didn't feel like she had a fever!! HOORAY FOR IMPROVEMENT!

It's so hard watching your baby be sick. It just broke my heart and I was holding back tears for the entire time all of this was happening. She kept turning to me and wanting me to hold her and I felt like she was begging me to make it go away and I couldn't. That was the worst feeling. I know that lots of kids get croup and that they are fine. There are so many worse things that could happen, but I'm just truly grateful that this is the worst we have had to deal with so far. We really are blessed. I hope she wakes up feeling better. I love her to death, it just tears me apart seeing her like this. Thank goodness for modern medicine.

Another little DIY!

I have loved being able to explore my crafty side! I saw somebody asking for ways to do a quiet book and started doing my research. I found this cute blog that gives ideas and templates and I decided to use some and make me one! I have made quite a few pages and it took me about 6 hours!
So far, my supply list includes:
felt
Velcro
hot glue
scissors
paper (there are different printable patterns but one girl's don't link so I had to copy them and enlarge them in word. They still worked great!

Here are some cute pages I made! I have more that I want to make but it will require some shopping (I didn't have the right colors of felt!) This book looks like it is going to last me a while and Brynlee loves it! So glad I can do these kinds of things! Also, a big thanks to my amazing Grandma who let's me use her hoarded stuff.
These flowers button on! I also put the rickrack on so that there are some other textures. This is for Brynlee's older book I am making. She can't quite button things yet.

I'm waiting to finish this page because I need some Velcro. It's supposed to be cookie dough, cookies and a pan/plates. The spatula has a Popsicle stick in it to make it firm. You either match the shapes or the colors :)

This one was fun! There is a little "garage" for the toy car. It can drive on the road!

This is the farm and pasture page! I love how the barn turned out. It is Brynlee's favorite page too!

I made little finger puppets for the farm. They are held in a little pocket in the barn or they can play on the grass!!
Brynlee couldn't really play with the car one yet or the cookies so I made her pages that are feeling (different kinds of ribbons) and colors (different kinds of fabric). She doesn't love it, but it's cute!

So I love this little lion page. Grandma helped me sew the mouth and around his head but the mane is made of different kinds of ribbons and lace! It's such a cute little feeling page!

SHE LOVES IT! It kept her quiet during dinner too! Yay for crafts!
