A new little PRINCESS

It's true! In just a few short months we will be bringing a new little princess into the world!!

I am so stinking excited!! Lucky for me, the days just before the ultrasound went really quickly so I wasn't waiting in agony. Wednesday morning my appointment was at 9:10. Spencer and I got up at like 7:30, he made french toast (you have no idea how big of a deal this is. I had been waiting to eat these amazing strawberries I had on french toast since like Sunday. It was terrible!), and we headed out to the doctor. We had a short wait and they took us back. The ultrasound was so fun. I know it was pretty much the same as every other one, but it is so fun seeing our little baby on the screen. It is also fun because she is a lot farther up now and closer to my tummy so the technician didn't have to push very hard to see her :). She checked the spine, the kidneys, the bladder, the brain, the length of the bones in her legs, the heart (that part was really cool. You could see all 4 chambers and could see them moving....crazy!!), and measured the heart rate. After all of this she tried to find out the gender. Our little lady decided she didn't really want to open her legs (I guess I should be happy about that, but it made it quite frustrating!) After a little bit, the technician had me roll on my side to try and get the baby to move. Shortly afterwards she started to cooperate. The picture was finally clear enough and the technician said, "It's a girl". I was so happy! I have been thinking it was a girl the whole time!! And so had everyone else. It would have been a sad day if everyone and their dog had been wrong; even though I would have loved him either way if it was a boy. She finished up the ultrasound, printed some pictures, and gave us a disc of all of the pictures from the entire ultrasound. This is really nice because now the pictures will be perfect and clear, not blurry and off color.

It's crazy to see how much she looks like a human just from the past 6 weeks. You can see her little face and her fully developed arms :).

Right after, we went in to talk to the doctor and had a short little wait. In that time, Spencer told me that he didn't know why it took her so long to say it was a girl. He said, "I saw the little lines and went...'oh no....there they are....it's a girl' but it took her so long!!"  I proceeded to tell him, "That's so funny because I kept seeing one long line and was like...'oh crap....it's a boy...' but then she pointed out the lines and I thought...'oh, ok! that's what I thought!'" Spencer is really happy to have a little girl too :).

After the doctor, we went to Walmart to get a dress and shoes (That's all I could talk Spencer in to buying). We got this adorable little dress, shoes on sale, and we got a picture frame to put the ultrasound pictures in. I think Spencer even had fun picking out this stuff, even though on the way into the store he said, "I don't know if I can handle all of this frilly stuff" to which I replied, "Oh. Just WAIT!!" haha. We also went to Party City and got some little girl balloons. We met my mom and sister at Freestone park to take pictures of us with the pink stuff that we bought, and surprised them with the news. We took pictures and it was really fun. We had some camera troubles and it was pretty hot, but we got through it in good time and ended up with some cute ones! And now, for the moment you have all been waiting for...the pictures! I know I posted these all on facebook but I want to have them on my blog for future.

We love our little Princess tons already and can't wait to meet her! She is going to be perfect, I just know it :) <3

We are one proud mommy and daddy!

Life is SO good!

I repeat...Life is SO good! We are some happy campers right about now. Everything seems to be working out perfectly for us. I know it's probably bad luck to say anything but we cannot complain! We have been moved into our new apartment for about a week and a half now and are seriously loving it. I am one of those people that doesn't like to live out of boxes, suitcases, etc. When I am somewhere for good, I want to be there....for good! I don't want to have to search through boxes to find a fork. I don't want to trip over boxes because I haven't found a place for their contents yet. I don't want to look and see bare walls when I have boxes and boxes of pretty decorations and picture frames. I don't want to look around and feel like I wouldn't want anybody to come over because I would have to explain that we just moved and haven't quite figured out what we are doing with stuff yet. So here we are, all set up!! We love having the extra space EVERYWHERE. We have room to walk, we have places to put things, and we have color on the walls! I'll go back to the move though.

On Saturday the 23, we got the keys. Friday night we went before they closed and signed the lease (this was a really good idea because it took over and hour to sign the lease and it was nice to just worry about packing up and getting started). Friday night we went to go get my dad's truck so we could use it to pull a trailer he was letting us borrow. Long story short: keys weren't there, trailer wasn't available, Uncle Tyler comes to the rescue! My awesome uncle Tyler offered to come and help us pack up in the morning and use his trailer. It was amazing. Saturday morning we woke up and got everything the rest of the way packed up. We didn't have to be out of the old apartment until the 28th so we didn't worry about cleaning anything, we just loaded up the entire apartment into Tyler's trailer and the back of my dad's truck and took off. We also had some little helpers! Tyler brought Branson and Jarvis to help. They were so cute and helpful. We got the keys and went back to start painting! Tyler, Branson, and Jarvis, along with Whitley helped us unload everything into the apartment. This was also the time when Jarvis stepped in some dog poop and tracked up the walkway to our door and into the baby's room. That was smelly. We thanked them and they left. I don't know what we could have done without them!!!!!!! Right about halfway through unloading the Hons showed up to help. Kathy and Tanner were a huge help in unloading and they stayed to paint the whole day. We painted, and painted, and painted, and painted, from about 11 to 6. It was a looooong day. We got most of the painting done in that day though so we could get our furniture in and sorta put together. All we had to do was to touch up here and there. The last thing we had to do that day was to go to Walmart to buy a microwave and a shower curtain for our guest bathroom. Let's just say, I slept great that night!! Besides being in so much pain ;). I had a really sore back and my hips and knees were killing me! Moving while you are pregnant is not an easy task!

It really looks amazing! It feels like a home, it feels like our home!! Just this past week we have finished touching up the paint, hanging all of the decorations on the walls, and getting all but the last 3 boxes put away (That is my fault. I don't want to put them away. That means I have to find a specific place for them and they just keep telling me they don't want a place!!).

Bedroom #2 aka BABY'S ROOM!!! I love this room so much. After some drama with the color of paint at Home Depot, we got the perfect color and I love this room. It's so quiet and is going to look so cute with baby furniture in it!

This room is almost as big as our master bedroom, you just can't tell from the pictures how big it really is!

This is our kitchen! We love all of the cabinet space! We have room for almost everything!

Another view. The big door there is the laundry room. It's nice and big but it doesn't have a washer and dryer yet and it is just sorta plain so I will leave it up to your imagination! :)

I don't know if you can tell in any of these pictures but our whole apartment besides the bedrooms is this wood floor looking stuff. It's a kind of vinyl and it looks really REALLY nice! I was a little bit worried about it at first but the color is awesome, it is easier to keep clean and clean up, and it adds something a little bit different to the whole place. I am really happy with it :) It looks especially nice in the bathrooms.

Well this post is really long and congratulations if you made it all the way through! I am so excited to begin this new part of our lives. I can't believe that in August we will be living in this same place with a baby!! How crazy. I could not be happier :)

New place! New place!

WE ARE MOVING!! I am soooo excited. Our lease is up on March 1st and we have decided to move where we can get more square footage for cheaper than anywhere else we can find. We also can paint which makes it way more awesome! We are moving into a 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1056 sq ft apartment! We get the keys on Saturday which is seriously so exciting! I have been packing for the past few days (mostly Monday because Spencer had off of work) and getting things ready. The actual process of getting the apartment has been a bit of a hassle but we are hopefully done with that part. We have had to provide so much paperwork and I have had to keep going back with more. It's not really on my way to anything at this point either AND I haven't had a car because I have been letting Spencer take it to work since it saves gas. I'm just ready to live there. The apartments are so nice and they have big bedrooms and a LAUNDRY ROOM! Yep, you heard right folks, a room for us to do laundry! Now...we have to provide our own washer and dryer but still...we now have the option.

The next week of my life is going to be so crazy. Saturday we are going to paint...all day. We are also going to attempt moving some stuff over too because we want to stay the night there and go to our new ward on Sunday. Monday will be the rest of the big moving and taking over the rest of the boxes. Once the old place is cleared out, we will have about 3 days to clean it up and get it looking like it did when we moved in so we can get our security deposit back!

We are going to put all of the baby stuff in the extra bedroom and when we find out what we are having we will start decorating it. We are going to paint the walls in that room gray so that we can either accent with pink and yellow if it's a girl or green and blue if it's a boy. It should be super cute. Right now all of our baby stuff is at other people's houses so it will be fun to actually get it all together in one room and see the room take shape. The only problem is all of the furniture is white so far except our crib. hmm.

 We are both really excited to get out of our tiny apartment. There is not a lot of space anywhere and we are ready to get organized (because we will actually have storage space to organize with) and get set up. I will be posting pictures along the journey of the next few weeks as we get moving, find out the gender of our little baby, and go on our spring break trip to California with my family. Happy times ahead! :)

Valentine's Day 2013

This was definitely a different kind of Valentine's day. I had no idea what to get Spencer. I mean, what to do you buy a guy for this lovey dovey holiday? I decided to wake up early in the morning and make him pink waffles. That shows the love, right?? Well, he woke up to get ready for work (at like 6 mind you) and got in the shower. I got up and started making waffles. Unfortunately for me, he has started taking faster showers so he got out before I was done. He just looked at me really sad and said, "You made breakfast when you weren't supposed to." Well there went THAT! He had planned out this really cute and nice breakfast of french toast cut in the shape of a heart and strawberries. He was somehow going to try to get chocolate milk pink (I don't like strawberry milk) and got up really early so he could do it. I totally ruined his surprise!! :( Just the fact that he thought and planned this all out meant a ton to me though because he doesn't do stuff like that very often so when he does, I know it's special. He left for work and I started in on his next surprise. I told him I had one but he probably wouldn't want me to do it because it was a bit expensive. He told me to do it but not tell him what it was. I planned a night at the Hyatt Place next to the San Tan mall. I thought it would be so fun to go swimming, hang out, get out of our disastrous house (more on that later) and just spend some us time together. I picked him up from work and started heading that direction. He had no idea what was going on. We got by the mall and I asked him which he would rather eat at: In N Out or Panda Express. He chose Panda so that is where we had our Valentine's dinner...Romantic eh?? :) I then proceeded to drive to the hotel. Spencer was really confused. I had packed our bag and put it in the trunk so he couldn't see. I got out, opened the back, grabbed the bag and told him to come on. We went in and got the key to our room and the night began! I asked him if he was mad (it was a pretty expensive night away from home). He said if I would have told him before-hand he probably would have been but because it was a surprise he loved it. That doesn't make sense at all makes total sense! I told him that I felt like we needed a night away. We wouldn't really be able to do anything for our anniversary next month and we didn't really do anything for Valentine's day either. He loved it :). We decided to go swimming *note to self: when booking a hotel, make sure it actually says INDOOR pool rather than just assume* It was FrEeZiNg cold and we lasted all of about 4 minutes. We went inside and decided to just hang out. We watched American Idol and just got to spend time together. He went in late to work the next day by like two hours so we could get up in the morning and not be rushed. We got breakfast in the little dining room at the hotel and he got ready for work. All in all, it was a really fun day. Even though it wasn't what I expected and it was a bit spur of the moment, I loved every minute. I love my husband more than everything and I love spending time with him, even if it's just watching TV in a bigger bed than ours. I love that he is willing to let me be a bit spontaneous and doesn't get mad when I want to do lovey dovey things. I am so happy to be married to him and to be having his baby! We are about to hit our one year mark and I can't believe how fast the past year has gone. Many more to come!! Happy (belated) Love day everyone!

Our family is growing by 2 feet!

I know it is a little bit late but I decided to write about our newest adventure! We are having a BABY! About the first week in December we found out I was pregnant. It was seriously like the most amazing feeling! Especially since the month before I got a no...While I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling, Spencer was struggling a little bit more. Pretty much every scary thought he could have hit him within 5 minutes and he was less than "jumping up and down excited". It was a really hard week for us as we struggled to come to terms with the reality that we are actually having a baby and what this meant for us in our upcoming lives and decisions. Spencer We decided not to tell anybody (even my mother...) until Christmas. I'm not really sure why, but I made it!! I went to the doctor and they confirmed that I was pregnant! When we found out, I thought that I was 5 weeks along...I went into my first actual doctor's appointment thinking I was 8 weeks and was having an ultrasound. They measured the baby and they said that I was only 7 weeks. HOW DISAPPOINTING!! I thought my baby already had the startings of hands and feet and now I had to go through week 7 all over again!

 Oh well. On Christmas day (I was just a day shy of 8 weeks) we told our families. We had made T-Shirts that said #1 Grandma and #1 Grandpa for both of our parents. During the process of opening presents, we handed them their wrapped shirts and got to watch their excited expressions as they realized what the shirts meant. My father ran into the kitchen and started bawling (anybody surprised??), my mother ran in and hugged me (skipped completely over Spencer), his mother said, "What does this mean?? What does this mean?? Oh my gosh!" (I think she really knew what it meant), and Spencer's father said, "Coo-ool". It was so fun to have the news out there to our families.

We told them they couldn't tell though, until I was farther along. I think it was like torture for them...especially to my dad. I continued to be sick and tired for weeks until I had a doctor's appointment when I was 11 weeks. I heard the heartbeat on the doppler (this was really exciting because I had started feeling better and got really nervous that something had happened). We set an appointment for the next week to do the NT Ultrasound to check for Downs syndrome. Friday of the next week came and Spencer and I headed off to the doctor. We got to see the baby for almost half an hour!! This was a big change because the first time it was about 3 minutes and there was nothing to see except a little peanut shaped blob. Our little baby was moving around like crazy, stretching its arms and legs, opening and closing its mouth, and so much more! It was unbelievable. It was one of the happiest moments in my entire life. Spencer couldn't take his eyes off of the screen. He kept asking me how I didn't feel any of it because the baby was kicking me like crazy. He said the baby looked so big (really it's only 6 cm). It was really fun to watch him get so into it and to see him being happy looking at our little baby.

1.12 cm from toe to heel! That is so tiny!

 They did this thing where they measure the "angle of the dangle" which measures the angle of the little nub that turns into a boy part or a girl part against the spine. If the angle is 30* or below, it's a girl. If the angle is 30* or above it is a boy.

Our little baby measured at 17*!! I was so excited! The ultrasound technician said that it's not 100% positive but with a good machine and a good technician they are right 98% of the time! There is over a 75 % chance that we are having a girl :)! I'm trying not to get too excited or get my hopes up too high but it's really difficult! I can just picture this little girl inside of me :). I have an appointment on the 22 of February and then 2 weeks after that I have the ultrasound to find out the gender for sure. I am so excited! We are seriously both so excited to be parents and we are dying to have our little baby with us already. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next 6 months...I am already going crazy and it's only been 3! I am 13 weeks tomorrow and just dying for time to move quicker. We feel so blessed to so far have moved through this without complications. I have a friend due a month before me that had to be on progesterone pills the first trimester and a friend that just lost her baby at like 6 weeks. I count that blessing every day. I hope that our baby continues to grow healthy and strong and that we will be able to have a peaceful (well....as peaceful as a crazy, hormonal, pregnant lady can get) pregnancy.

It's the most wonderful time of the year :)

I really need to get blogging more! I can't believe how long it has been! I have not had much to blog about lately. As newlyweds ( I know, I know...we still are) there are so many exciting things happening! It is fun stuff to tell and there is lots of it! Once you settle into a groove though, things are just every day life. There are no big, exciting things happening. You stop celebrating month-iverseraries. You know....we are just normal people doing normal people things! There are a few new things though in the life of the Hons!

Spencer and I got released from our callings. We have been teaching the 5 and 6 year old primary class. I love it so much and I was really nervous when they called BOTH of us in. (They had originally only called Spencer in to meet with them and then he came back out and got me...). I told him, "If they release me from primary I am going to cry." haha well, when I heard the words, "We would like to release you both from your calling as primary teachers"....I was not a happy camper. I might have even said, "nooooo....". Then I got my new calling. Primary Chorister!!! I get to lead the music and still be in primary every Sunday! I will even still see my class! I was a happy camper after that. Spencer got called to teach Sunday School for the 14 year olds. He will do much better in that calling. He teaches better to people that can actually use the scriptures and don't need things repeated about 6 times before they comprehend haha. Spencer is staying with our class until January and I start my calling on Sunday....wish me luck!

We also got to take family pictures with the Hons. I have not seen many of the pictures...actually, I have only seen one! It was fun and stressful but I love the family that I have married into. They are a HUGE blessing in my life!

Spencer and I did something a little different for Christmas this year. Since we don't have a lot of money and we have a lot of things to pay for, we got one big gift for both of us and called it good. We got....A NEW TV!! We got it on Black Friday and just got it last Friday. It goes in our bedroom. We also got an antenna for the other TV so we can watch regular channels too. It's been fun!

We have a class Christmas Party on Saturday that we are really excited about. We are going to decorate cookies, make crafts, and watch a Christmas movie :). It will be our last little Hoorah! with our class before they move up.

Finals are over this week and we are free of school for a while...maybe...ha! It's too much of  a story to tell, but let's just say, I really want a vacation!! I have one more today and then I am done for the semester. I have mostly enjoyed my classes this semester and have learned a lot. Spencer had his last final last night so he is already done...lucky ducky!! Oh well.

That's pretty much it on our side of the world (the Gilbert side)!

Oh wait!! We have been staying at my cousins' house for the past 3 or 4 days while my aunt is in the hospital!! I have two new baby cousins! Rigg and Ezra Hall! They are so cute and their brothers and sisters are already completely in love with them. Mom and babies are doing well and they are waiting to hear when Mom can come home :). It's been a crazy week with a sick husband and driving all around but this is my favorite kind of service!
