I got to throw a Disney Side party! I am in a group called MomSelect and they send me offers and things to try that are mostly mom related. I got an email asking me if I wanted to fill out a survey to decide if I wanted to throw a Disney Side party. I filled out the survey, thinking I wouldn't get chosen because I only had one kid and she wasn't even 1 yet! Well, much to my surprise, they picked me!! I was so excited. I had to agree to throw the party between a couple of month span and then to blog about it to share my experience. They sent me a bunch of party supplies and a suitcase, an iphone case, and some measuring cups as hostess gifts!
I was given the plates, napkins, cups, stickers, craisins, bracelets, tattoos, table cloth, mickey mouse cookie cutters, cupcake liners, disney side bingo, and hanging mickey mouse decorations.
Katy's birthday was February 12 and it was the perfect time for me throw the party! It was a little bit earlier than I was supposed to, but I couldn't pass up a perfect opportunity! She invited 9 of her friends and we had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Disney birthday party! I didn't get there as early as I would have liked but luckily my mom is awesome and set it up for me. :) I recruited the help of my grandma and my sister to help as well so that we would have plenty of hands for all of the activities!
We started off by eating mickey mouse shaped pancakes and sausage with chocolate milk. We used the cookie cutters to make the pancakes in shapes and the kids thought they were so cool!
Mom made muffins and used the cup cake liners I got! So cute :) |
After the girls were all done eating, we played Bingo! None of the girls really liked eating the Craisins so we used them as our markers for Bingo. They thought it was so fun and shouted BINGO! every time they got one. We kept playing until every girl got a chance to yell.
After we played Bingo, it was time for face painting! I had decided beforehand that it would be so fun to do face paint. In my kit they gave me a couple of templates I could do for face painting but none of the girls chose those ones. They loved it!
Once we brought all of the girls in from outside, Katy opened her presents! She got lots of cool little girl things, and even some of those weird monster high dolls (I really don't understand that fad...).
Last but not least was the silly photos. I made some cute props out of construction paper, put them on sticks, and let the girls take turns using them to take pictures. I made ones that looked like goofy, donald, minnie, and even a mustache (since apparently those are fun these days too)! They thought it was so fun. They kept trading props and wanting me to take more pictures of them. I'm glad they worked out! I made them bigger than they needed to be, according to my husband, but I think they looked so cute on these little girls!
It turned out to be so much fun and I'm so glad I got picked to throw this party! I will do it again any time! The girls each got a balloon and a Minnie and Mickey poster (got those for free too!) and played outside until their parents came to get them. We also are printing out some of these silly pictures with the photo paper that they sent me and mailing them to their houses! Happy 7th KJ :)
