I went with Spencer's aunt Stephanie and I just love her. We went Friday night and got to hear from some amazing speakers (including JOHN BYTHEWAY!!!!!) and listen to the band! I got home super late and decided to go in a little bit later on Saturday so I could get some rest. It was a while ago and I don't remember very many specifics (that's the downside to blogging about it 4 months later) but I do remember a few things.
- My understanding of my role as a mother was strengthened. And I mean a lot. There are hard times as a mom and it's very easy to put yourself down and feel like you aren't doing enough or doing it right. This conference really showed me how valuable my efforts of Motherhood are and how much a difference they will make in my children's lives. I also learned some tips and tricks from mothers with a bit more experience than me ;)
- My understanding of my worth as a daughter of GOD was solidified. When hard times come and you are overwhelmed and you are tired, it's easy to feel like you are trying to trudge through this life alone. But you aren't. I really felt my Heavenly Father and my Savior's love for me that weekend and got a boost of confidence in my abilities. I can make a difference. I am worth something to someone. I can do so much good. I can help others. I can always be better.
- My love for music grew. I also got to feel how much music can bring the spirit. We got to listen to Hilary Weeks all day on Saturday throughout the day and it was amazing. I didn't know very many of her songs, but I gained an appreciation for her music and her desire to share the gospel through music. Let's just say I now have a Pandora station set to "Hilary Weeks Radio". Oh yeah...AND I GOT TO MEET HER!!
I also got to hear from Sis Elaine Dalton. She is amazing. Her spirit and her knowledge really blessed my life. Oh yeah...I GOT TO MEET HER TOO!
As we left the conference, I was completely shocked at how many women were there. And everyone was nice to everyone. We were all sisters. We were all there for the same reason, and we all felt our Savior's love and wanted to share it with each other. It was amazing.
I am so excited to go again this year. I think I will go every year for the rest of my life. This time, I'm bringing as many people as I can get to come so that all of the women I know will be able to experience this amazing weekend. If you want to tag along, let me know!!

Not even everyone. It was crazy. |
